The Jim "Billy" Barnes FOP Lodge is very active in the community that it serves. Every year, members of the lodge gather for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
During the 2010 Relay for Life, members of the lodge helped raise more than $7,000. To the right is a photograph from the 2010 Relay for Life. Lodge 71 also supports at least three local youth sports programs. As a not for profit organization, at least 20% of our income is donated to charitable organizations. Many of the contributions are made directly from the dues collected from active lodge members. Below is a list of some of the charitable organizations that the Jim "Billy" Barnes actively supports:
In cases where an officer, their family, or a member of the police department needs help, fund raisers are normally conducted. In the past the lodge has hosted charitable softball tournaments and dinners. Also, proceeds from the annual golf tournament is sometimes used to support the members of the FOP. If you are a business or individual that would like to become involved in one of these events, please contact us. Check the events page for upcoming fund raisers.
