In August 2011, the Jim "Billy" Barnes FOP Lodge hosted its first FOP Police Ball. The ball was a joint venture between the Pensacola Police Department and the FOP Lodge 71. The following officer were recognized by the FOP:
Shawn Dockery - FOP Member of the Year
Al Fryer - Supervisor of the Year
Jamie Briarton and Mike Cyr - Officer of the Year
The event was held at the Pensacola Yacht Club. Mayor Ashton Hayward, Council President Mareen DeWeese, Councilman Brian Spencer and Police Chief Chip Simmons joined us to celebrate the accomplishments. Additionally, a Pensacola citizen that Jamie and Mike rescued was able to attend the event and present the them with the award.
The next FOP Ball will be held in February or March, 2013.
